** I am now blogging at: http://marcossalazar.tumblr.com. Check it out =) **
It has been a very, very long time since I have written a post here. As many of you know, I have been working on a new clothing business for the past 8 months and that has taken up most of my free time. Well, I am happy to say that www.BoroThreads.com officially launched a few weeks ago!
As many of you know, BoroThreads is a "hyperlocal" clothing company that points out the funny, interesting, and quarky things about living in New York City. The response has been amazing and I wanted to thank everyone who passed the site along to all their friends and family. We even got in the New York Times the first week of launch!
Now that I have finished up with that project, I am ready to get back into writing about Gen Y and young professional issues. And to kick off my return to the blogging world, I will be writing a series of guest posts on Dan Schawbel's Personal Branding Blog. I encourage everyone to check out his site. He is a great resource on developing and maintaining a personal brand, and this is what I will be writing about next.
I realized that over the past 8 months I had been so focused on BoroThreads that I let the other things I enjoyed working on fall by the wayside. On Dan’s blog I will be writing about the personal branding journey I will be embarking on as I try to integrate all my various projects into a unified personal brand. I will be using his book Me 2.0: Building a Powerful Brand to Achieve Career Success as a guide and would love to hear your feedback as I progress in developing a better personal brand.
If you don't know much about personal branding I suggest you pick up a copy of his book as well as visit his website.
I look forward to hearing what you have to say about my series of posts.
Best,
Marcos

I look forward to reading your posts. I too wear a lot of hats, and not only do other people have a hard time explaining what I do, but sometimes I do, too. Laura Allen [http://15secondpitch.com] used the phrase "a pitch for every niche" which I've started focusing on as a simple way to be clear.
